Silence 2 Movie Review: Manoj Bajpayee’s The Night Owl Bar Review

Silence 2 Movie Review: In 2021, Manoj Bajpayee starred alongside Prachi Desai in Silence He played ACP Avinash Verma, who leads a special unit at the Mumbai crime branch. After a three-year wait, Aban Bharucha Deohans has released a sequel titled ‘Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.

The film investigates the mystery behind the deaths of 8-10 people at The Night Owl Bar in Mumbai. Will ACP Avinash and his team uncover the complexities of this seemingly simple case? Find out now! The movie premiered on April 16 and is now available for streaming on Zee5.

Silence 2 Movie Review

The movie is a mixed bag. Some parts will leave you wanting more, but others drag you when it’s not engaging. ACP Avinash Verma questions a man about what happened at the bar, But It turns out the case is more complex than it seems, involving an underage girl forced into prostitution. Relating to the Special Crime Unit is tough because they typically overlook seemingly minor cases.

The movie also shows how the police work together, but the Deohans divide the film into two paths: one where the Special Crime Unit operates smoothly, and another where the filmmaker introduces twists to keep viewers guessing. As the team investigates deeper, they discover connections to a bigger criminal network.

Silence 2: Performances

Manoj Bajpayee is great as the determined detective who never quits. His character, ACP Verma shines on screen with his humour and unconventional methods to solve the case. We see a glimpse of his personal life, but more depth could have maintained the film.

Moving on to Prachi Desai as Inspector Sanjana Bhatia, her effort is visible but she seems to be trying too hard alongside Bajpayee. Sahil Vaid and Vaqaur Shaikh contribute to the getup feel of the police team. Parul Gulati delivers a decent performance as Arti Singh, but her character’s backstory feels disconnected. It seems that all of the typical preconceptions were incorporated into her character development.

Silence 2: Direction, Script & Camera work

Aban Bharucha Deohans has done an excellent job with Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout. Deohans divides the film into two paths: one where the Special Crime Unit collaborates smoothly and another where the filmmaker introduces twists to keep viewers guessing.

The camera work is smooth, and it keeps your attention despite the weak storyline. The shots capture movement and provide an engaging viewing experience. However, the second half feels stretched and the ending is underwhelming.

The cinematography team, led by Director of Photography Pooja Gupte is impressive. the makers manage to capture the realness of the locations – bars, chawls, flats and havelis, beautifully making you feel like you’re right there! The beauty of the haveli may convince you to pay a visit to a palace in Jaipur.

Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout: Last Words

Silence 2 is worth a watch if you enjoy murder mysteries. And, as always, Manoj Bajpayee delivers his best. Despite its drawbacks, it is worth your time. Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout is a holding view of how a neglected childhood may impact and distort people’s thinking, making them insensitive to others.

It shows the transformation into sociopathy and its impact on relationships. However, the plot has some holes and feels a bit like a TV crime show at times. Overall, in an otherwise average thriller, it’s Manoj Bajpayee’s strong and confident performance that stands out.
