The trailer starts with a close-up of Joaquin Phoenix returning as Arthur Fleck, escorted by guards, maybe in Arkham Asylum. Then, he meets Harley, who pretends to shoot herself with her hands. As a last glimmer of hope, Harley comes into Fleck’s life. and he is sitting on a dark stage dressed as Joker, with the spotlight shining on him, Harley turns into Quinn and says, Let’s get out of here.
As the song continues, their dance is shown in front of the moon in Gotham, looking stylish and deeply in love. There are also scenes of chaos, explosions, destruction and the mental state of Joker. The dream/nightmare atmosphere is disrupted when the footage cuts to Gaga visiting Joker in Arkham Asylum. She says I want to see the real you.
The movie is just six months away from being released in theatres. Joker: Folie à Deux is set to be released on October 4th.
